Abstract


Acclimatization is a treatment to conditioning plant from site in order to survive, to provide health and well developed plants that will be appointed as plant collection in Eka Karya Bali Botanic Garden (EKBBG). This research is aimed to observe that acclimatization process and its success rate, that conducted in the acclimatization plot of nurseries, begonias green house and orchids green house of EKBBG in June-December 2016. Plants are acclimatized by adjusting planting media and environmental conditions according to original habitat. Terrestrial plants are put in compost media, rheophyte plants are put in rocky sand media and epiphytes plants are put in shredded fern’s root. While seeds are sowed in a sandbox and spores are sowed on shredded fern’s root. After being sowed and planted, those plants are observed every 3 months. The results showed that success rate of acclimatization is 89,94% (number) and 79,71% (specimens). Deaths are dominated by species which taken from habitats whose condition differs from EKBBG, while some of the survival plants has been appointed as collection of EKBBG.
