Abstract
The research with the aim to know morphometry variation of leafhopper tungro virus vector Recelia dorsalis from rice ecosystems in Tapanuli region of North Sumatera Indonesia has been conducted. Leafhopper has been catched by using insect net in two districts in Tapanuli region (Tapanuli Utara and Humbang Hasundutan) and amount 60 individuals hopper (30 males and 30 females) for each district has been used as research sample. The measurement of morphological characters of leafhopper was done by using Carl Zeiss Imaging System Axio Vision LE Release 4.8.2. in Ecology Laboratory, Biology Department, Medan State University. The morphometry differentiation between sexes and places were analyzed by using Fisher test ANOVA 2 x 2. The relation of body lenght with another morphometric characters of male and female leafhoppers were done by using Stepwise Multiple Regression. Research result showed that there was significantly different on morphological character between male and female, i.e. on body lenght, head width, stylet lenght, thorax lenght, wings lenght and leg lenght. There was also morphological character differentiation between places or district, i.e on thorax and wings lenghts. Male and female morphological differentiation in Tapanuli Utara was higher than in Humbang Hasundutan district. The significantly relation between body lenght of leafhopper (Y) with abdomen lenght (X6) and wings lenght (X7) in male could be stated in the multiple regression equation Y=0.51 X6 + 0.60 X7 + 1.40 (R2=0.33). Meanwhile, the significantly relation between body lenght (Y) and head width (X3), thorax lenght (X5), abdomen lenght (X6), wings lenght (X7) and Ovipositor lenght (X10) in the female be stated in the multiple regression equation Y = 0.61 X3 + 0.26 X5 + 0.43 X6 + 0.93 X7 + 0.74 X10 – 0.27 (R2=0.82).
